The two keys to successful entertaining on a boat of any size are neurotic organization,
and making as many items as possible in advance. Here's our menu, translated into Alicia's list-speak.
While normally
pescetarian, Alicia does eat turkey on Thanksgiving. So does her
dad, and the pets. Therefore, we got an organic, free-range
turkey from the finest butcher in NYC,
in the smallest size they offered. Here it is, dressed,
stuffed, and ready for roasting. Note the bastardized roasting
pan comprised of a cookie sheet, a slightly elevated cookie-cooling
rack, and tin foil. The boating lifestyle often requires
improvisation in ways one can't always anticipate.
What we didn't
really consider beforehand was whether it would fit in our little
Force 10 oven! Luckily, it did barely fit with the oven rack
moved to the oven's bottom platform. Yet another cookie-cooling
rack was employed to allow heat to circulate under the rack.
Turned out nicely, though!

Here's the table, all set and ready. Good thing the marina's not very rocky, or those candles wouldn't work out so well!
